Sportor Trivex NXT Polarised Photochromic is a bit of a mouthful for a prescription (Rx) sunglass lens, so let us break it down for you.

Sportor is the brand name; Trivex is a lens material which is even stronger than polycarbonate lens material; SV means single vision as opposed to multifocal, NXT is a Trivex based lens material which has been formulated from the science and technology behind Apache helicopters used in the US Military; as you probably know Polarised lenses reduce glare and finally photochromic is the generic name for all lenses which darken and lighten automatically according to the light conditions, e.g. Transitions is a photochromic lens type.

NXT Trivex lenses are 10% lighter in weight than polycarbonate lenses and provide 100% UVA and UVB blockage.

These polarised photchromic prescription sunglass lenses start off indoors with 36% light transmission (the percentage amount of light they let through) and darken outdoors up to 10% light transmission in bright sunlight. They darken and lighten automatically according to the outdoor light conditions. They come in a choice of Grey or Brown and with a multi anti-reflective coating on the backside surface of the lenses.

These lenses are pictured in both their natural and fully darkened states.

These lenses are suitable for prescriptions -4.00/+6.00 Sph with opposite Cyls to 4.
